Extracurricular activities render an opportunity to correlate academic skills with the real world context. Featured & creative curriculum facilitate children to learn better Social skills, Critical Thinking & Teamwork. School clubs provide students with opportunities to use their time outside of class wisely and provides opportunity to hone their skills and learn some new ones.
In Viveka Foundations School we have various clubs through which the students can learn new skills and master their existing one. Various competitions are organised by these clubs from time to time in which students predominantly participate and showcase their skills.

Children Science Club (CSC)

The seed of the programme of Children Science Congress, in the way of an exercise to carry out small research activities at micro- level were planned in Madhya Pradesh by an NGO called Gwalior Science center. It was later adopted by National Council for science and Technology Communications, Department of science and Technology. It was felt that the large scale activities for developing science awareness amongst the masses are to be continued as regular activity, so this programme was launched nationwide in 1993, under nomenclature National Children’s Science Congress, with expectation that it would generate scientific temperament amongst the teachers and students, and spread amongst the various stakeholders of the society.
Functioning :
CSC is targeted to spread the concept of the method of science amongst the children their project activities adopting the principle of learning through doing. The mandate of participation is that, the children will carry out a project on a particular topic in relation to theme and subtheme decided for the year. The study is to be carried out in the neighbourhood of the children where they live.

Achievements :

  • Viveka's foundations is participating every year in CSC programme.
  • Viveka's foundations grabbed the second position in skit competition at the state level.
  • Viveka Foundations participated in Quiz & Science Activity at District level (Session 2019-20).

Hindi Club

The Hindi club was formed to work for the progress of Hindi language, to create interest in the students for the language and to encourage their creativity in oral and writing skills. The purpose of the Hindi-Club is to enhance the creativity of our students. The Club allows students to create their own speech, nukkad -natak, plays, compose poetry and also write essays to express their thoughts and feelings. The Club also conducts activities on Hindi day like debates, poem recitations, story writing and essay writing in every year. Hindi Olympiad is also organized by Hindi club. Hindi club plays an important role in motivating the students to enhance their creative writing and speaking skills.

Math Club

In the present curriculum only limited opportunities are available to the students for self expression, independent thinking, constructive activities and other projects. Mathematics club play an important role in motivating the students with interest and involvement. Mathematics club provides excellent opportunities for students to break away from the monotony of rigid and structured classroom environment. In mathematics club students chooses the activities on his own.Through the learning that takes place in mathematics club is informal in nature.

  • It helps in arousing and maintaining student’s interest in Mathematics.
  • It indicates the habit of self study and in dependent work amongst the students.
  • It provides opportunities for students to translate the theory in to practice.

  • Organizing recreational activities in Mathematics such as puzzle, riddles , catch problems, number games etc.
  • Organizing Mathematics Olympiad.
  • Organizing scholarship competitions.

Literary Club

Literary club is not just only to develop the speaking and writing skills of the students but to enhance their literary skills as well. Throughout the year various activities and competitions are organised for the students to accomplish this aim. Students learn how to plan, organize and present their ideas, by comparing and contrasting, students also learn how to present their ideas by using appropriate style and format.
The best literary works of students are published in the newsletter and school magazine. In this way the talent of the students is honed and develop the aesthetic sense and the love for literature and language. During this period of lockdown students got another creative platform of digital newsletter and magazine writing.

ECO Club

Eco club is aimed to mobilize its members to the protection of ecology or environment. Eco club in school empower students to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects such as reducing, reusing and recycling programmes, energy saving programmes along with plantation activities.

Functioning :

  • Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees.
  • Promote ethos of conservation of water by optimizing the use of water.
  • Motivate students of imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest storage point.
  • Organise seminars, debates, lectures and popular talks on environmental issues in the school to motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean.
  • Promote ethos of conservation of water by optimizing the use of water and cleaning of water body in the adjacent area.
  • Motivate students to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest storage point.
  • Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide breeding ground for mosquitoes.
  • Organize tree plantation programmes, awareness programmes such as quiz, essay, painting competitions, rallies, nukkad natak etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste.
  • Field visit to environmentally important sites.
  • Grow kitchen gardens, maintain vermi-composting pits, construct water harvesting structures in school.

Events organised in school :

World environment day is celebrated every year on 5th June. Eco club organised various activities on this day as Tree Plantation, Poster making, Slogan writing, Bird feeder, Reuse of waste products to convert them into useful ones, making enzyme fruit cleaner. Students were appreciated for their work by providing the certificates.
There is a botanical area in school itself with plants having botanical names. Students had a visit to school botanical garden to make them aware of surrounding plants.

Art & Craft Club

Art & Craft Club is a fun way for students to learn about making household objects into works of art. The activities are easy, thought-provoking, and educational. Crafts explore themes such as culture, science, and maths. Through these crafts, students learn background information about each of the themes. Upon completion of an activity, students are encouraged to share their artwork with their peers, friends, and family. Arts and Crafts Club is available to students in grades Kindergarten through Higher class.
On every year in the month of May Art and Craft Club organizes Open Art Competition in which students participate predominantly and showcase their creative skills.

Editorial Club

The Editorial club is a club that aims to allow its members to explore their journalistic capabilities and to provide a platform of information to the public and the students. It also encourages faculty and students to develop a taste for research in their respective fields and also publish school activities.

Sports Club

The Sports club is committed to provide a healthy sporting habit amongst the students. It helps to learn teamwork at work, coordination among diverse cultural & ethnic groups and mainly infuses discipline & instil the value system in one individual. Value of time, precision & competitiveness is the major learning points apart from communication, coordination & teamwork.
