DIWALI FAIR (2024-2025)

Festive Bonds: Diwali Fair Celebrations at Viveka Foundations

On October 26, 2024, Viveka Foundations Sr. Sec. School, Mansimbal, Palampur, organized a grand "Diwali Fair" to celebrate the festival of lights. This event brought together students, teachers, parents, and the local community, filling the air with joy and festive spirit. The fair was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Beena Butail Ji, along with special guests Mrs. Punam Kakkar and Mrs. Punam Sud, whose presence added grace to the event. Founder Principal and Director, Mrs. Kusum Rana, and Principal Dr. Shalini Singh were also present, marking the start of a vibrant and memorable day.

Held as an Inter-House event, the fair showcased the creativity of the four houses—Aryabhatt, Chaitanya, Major Somnath Sharma, and Rabindranath Tagore—through food and game stalls. In the food section, Aryabhatt house served delicious "Tikki Chaat" with a variety of chutneys and spices, Chaitanya house offered sweet corn and "Jaljeera," while Major Somnath Sharma house presented "Bhelpuri." Rabindranath Tagore house delighted everyone with "Fruit Chaat." Additionally, the school boarders added excitement by setting up a Chinese food stall with "ChowMein" and cold drinks, which drew enthusiastic responses from everyone. Students, teachers, and parents thoroughly enjoyed these mouthwatering delicacies.

To facilitate transactions, students received coupons from staff members, which served as currency to purchase food items, ensuring a smooth and organized buying process.

The games section provided numerous exciting activities for participants. "Tambola" was a crowd favorite, while "Ring Toss" offered students the chance to win various prizes. Additional swings brought joy to younger children, while a trampoline set up by Rakesh, the physically challenged son of senior helper Mrs. Seema Devi, became a major attraction. Rakesh’s trampoline stall was in high demand among children, and he achieved the highest earnings at the fair, showcasing his spirit and resilience.

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Beena Butail Ji, Mrs. Punam Kakkar, Mrs. Punam Sud along with Mrs. Kusum Rana and Dr. Shalini Singh, visited each stall, encouraging students and appreciating their efforts. Their interaction with students added warmth and excitement to the day.

To enrich the event further, students’ parents contributed by setting up their own stalls, offering a diverse array of items. This blend of parental support and involvement added a special dimension to the fair, creating unique experiences for students and strengthening the bond between the school and families.

The Diwali Fair at Viveka Foundations Sr. Sec. School was a tremendous success. It not only fostered the children’s overall development but also provided them with memorable experiences. The fair brought the school and local communities together, promoting unity and celebration during this festive season. In her concluding remarks, Founder Principal and Director Mrs. Kusum Rana praised the initiative, saying, “This was a wonderful effort by our faculty members, and I appreciate it from the core of my heart for bringing our school & community together in celebration.”
