"Bringing Literature to Life: Viveka Foundations Hosts National Kavi Manch"
On the 9th of November, 2024, Viveka Foundations had the honor of hosting a prestigious national-level "Kavi Manch." The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by our esteemed Chief Guest, Brigadier Satish Kumar, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Pratibha Sharma. Joining them were The School Chairman, Col. S.S. Rana, The Founder Principal & Director, Mrs. Kusum Rana, The School Principal, Dr. Shalini Singh, and other special guests. This ceremonial start marked a moment of reverence and anticipation for the day’s events.
The program began with a beautiful rendition of Saraswati Vandana by the school students, a performance that was an impressive display of their singing and dancing talents. This set a harmonious tone for the proceedings and reflected the deep respect for knowledge and art at the core of the event.
The "Kavi Manch" drew celebrated poets and lyricists from across the state, with a total of 36 poets representing the Shesh Sahitya Sadan of Paprola. Notable among them were Sh. Shakti Chand Rana, a retired headmaster, writer, and lyricist celebrated for his contributions to Hindi, Pahadi, and Punjabi literature, and the acclaimed poetess Smt. Suresh Lata Awasthi. The event saw an array of performances, with poems that evoked patriotism, deep emotion, and humor. These diverse pieces brought laughter and tears alike, leaving a powerful impact on all present.
To add to the vibrant atmosphere, the students of Viveka Foundations performed a spectacular Vitthal dance centered around the life of Lord Krishna, which captivated the audience. They also presented their own mini "Kavi Manch," showcasing their poetic prowess in a manner that even caught the attention of the renowned poets present. Another notable performance was an enactment of Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago speech, a tribute that resonated with the principles of Viveka Foundations and was met with enthusiastic applause.
Among the special contributors was Ms. Kiran, an ex-student of Viveka Foundations, who shared her writings with heartfelt expression, crediting the school for nurturing her passion for literature. Mrs. Manjeet Oberoi, who has been associated with the school for many years, also participated by presenting a touching Punjabi poem, adding to the rich cultural tapestry of the event.
The program took a patriotic turn with the participation of the mother of Mr. Anmol Chandla, a lieutenant in the Indian Army and a proud alumnus of Viveka Foundations. She shared her own poetic work, expressing gratitude to the school for its role in her son’s success and in shaping his dedication to the nation.
The "Kavi Manch" concluded on a joyful note, with the guests and students joining together for lunch. The event was marked as a grand success, celebrating the power of poetry, the richness of language, and the unity it brings across generations.
